This section contains detailed information about the performance and limitations of each associated element.

AE Environmental Limitations

Temperature

Operating Range: 32°F - 95°F

NOTE: The V2.3 UAS has separate temperature limitations.

Precipitation

As the aircraft is not permitted to operate in any amount of rain, snow or fog, neither are the system’s associated elements. The RPIC control station must be sheltered from precipitation.

CAUTION: Failure to shelter from precipitation may result in damage to equipment.

Icing Conditions

PRISM V2.3 operation is prohibited when potential icing conditions exist (any moisture including clouds, precipitation, mist, fog, in conjunction with ambient air temperature at or below 41°F). The RPIC control station should be protected from icing conditions and operations shall be suspended when such conditions are present.

CAUTION: Failure to protect from icing conditions may result in damage to equipment.

Humidity

Operating Relative Humidity: 10 - 90% (non-condensing)

Solar Exposure

The RPIC control station should be located outside of direct sunlight to avoid excessive UV exposure and aid in adhering to the temperature limits of the system. This may be achieved by placing the station underneath an awning or canopy.

Power Limitations

Sufficient power is required to power all electronic hardware devices described in Section 1, including the RPIC control station desktop and all accessories. The operator is responsible for ensuring adequate alternating current (AC) power is available at 110-120V (60 Hz).

Crew Limitations

In the minimum crew configuration, the RPIC Control Station can be operated by a single RPIC.

Prohibited Actions

The RPIC control station must be operated in accordance with the limitations and procedures prescribed within the PRISM V2.3 UAFM.
