After execution of the Takeoff normal procedure, the aircraft automatically transitions into the cruise flight phase based on the programmed mission. During the cruise phase of flight, the RPIC shall be monitoring three things: telemetry, navigation, and surrounding airspace (may be supported by VOs for airspace deconfliction and monitoring, as required). The RPIC shall be listening for audible alerts that may appear within AMC.

WARNING: Non-essential conversations and activities during all phases of flight may introduce hazardous conditions.
CAUTION: Uncrew will give an alert to the RPIC if a NFA or perimeter is violated. The RPIC shall make this identification and take appropriate measurements in accordance with emergency procedures
  1. Telemetry Monitoring: Monitor telemetry data on the Uncrew GCS Mission Console. Altitude, speed, GPS status, C2 Status, Aircraft Status, and Mission Status should all be inspected repeatedly throughout the cruise flight phase.

  2. Aircraft Navigation: Monitor the Mission Console screen to ensure that the aircraft is navigating in accordance with the expected flight plan. Ensure that no perimeter or NFA violations have occurred and that the aircraft is not approaching within 50 feet of a perimeter or NFA.

CAUTION: If a NFA is violated, perform the NFA Violation emergency procedure.

Ensure that the aircraft altitude is consistent with the desired altitude it is programmed to fly at. Transient discrepancies in altitude between the actual and the desired altitude are expected when traversing terrain with significant ground surface elevation changes.

  1. Audible Alerts: All audible alerts are annunciated by the Uncrew and AMC.

  2. Radio Comms: Maintain radio voice communication with VOs (if applicable) during the cruise flight phase. Ensure the voice communication device is accessible, powered, and ready to receive information during the flight. This is important to ensure timely response should an airspace intruder or obstacle be identified.
