Specifically, this could lead to minor injuries if the ground crew is too close to spinning propellers.

  2. Message “DISARM” does not show up on either GCS.

  3. Safety Switch does not automatically turn on.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

FAILSAFE BEHAVIOR

PROCEDURE

FAILURE TO DISARM ANNOUNCE

When one or more of the indicators is observed and the aircraft has had both landing gears touch down on the ground, the RPIC is to announce the above notification on the voice communication channel in use by the hub. This is imperative to ensure crew member awareness of an off-nominal situation involving the aircraft operation. The voice communication devices (i.e. handheld radios) as part of the RPIC Control Station accessories should be utilized to perform this task. The announcement should be made clearly with the exact wording used as shown above. While not required, it is advisable to clearly articulate the announcement more than one time to reduce the likelihood of crew member unawareness to the situation.

AMC: Emergency Shutdown ENGAGE

Select the “Emergency Actions” button at the top of the AMC application on the RPIC Tablet. Once pressed, a notification and confirmation popup will appear in the center of the screen.

After deployment, the aircraft is required to be serviced in accordance with the UMM by qualified maintenance personnel.

CAUTION: Ensure the area around the aircraft is clear of persons or obstructions within a 16ft diameter (minimum) prior to engaging emergency shutdown. Failure to strictly observe this condition could result in damage to or destruction of equipment, loss of mission effectiveness, or health hazards to personnel.
