GPS / Compass Failure
WARNING: Loss of GPS During Flight May Result in Hull loss to unmanned aircraft, or significant damage to persons, properties or critical infrastructure (MAJOR)

INDICATIONS

  1. Warning Message: “Failsafe Enabled: No Global Position”, or
  2. Warning Message: “Failsafe Enabled: No Local Position”
  3. Warning Message: “PRISMSKYXXX: Total Loss of GPS” (Uncrew)

FAILSAFE BEHAVIOR

When there is Loss of GPS, the aircraft autopilot will command the aircraft to immediately land. The aircraft, due to the Loss of GPS condition, will be unable to maintain its current lateral position and will drift while landing. The lateral velocity of the aircraft will increase as windspeed increases. Upon landing, the aircraft will disarm.

In the event that the aircraft collides with an obstacle or obstacles during its descent, the parachute recovery system will activate if the parachute maneuvering limitations are exceeded.

PROCEDURE

EMERGENCY LOSS OF GPS ANNOUNCE

WARNING: Aircraft will enter Loss of GPS failsafe and land. Hands Off Uncrew and AMC. Failure to strictly observe this condition could result in damage to or destruction of equipment, loss of mission effectiveness, or health hazards to personnel.
CAUTION: Aircraft autopilot will reject AMC “Go To” commands. Do not attempt to command the aircraft with AMC “Go To” commands.

If Landing Area Obstructed and above 110 ft AGL:

AMC: EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN — SELECT, CONFIRM

Record last known location — NOTE B.A.T.H.S

AIRCRAFT — SEARCH, RECOVER

Procedure Complete

If Landing Area Unobstructed:

AMC: LAND FLIGHT MODE VERIFY

VIDEO FEED MONITOR

AMC: DISARMED VERIFY

DISARM AS NEEDED

AIRCRAFT — RECOVER
